Pregnancy changes your body week by week — and a good massage should change with it. Jean Pierre Maurin, Licensed Massage Therapist, brings professional prenatal massage to your home anywhere in the Austin area. Every session starts with a short conversation about how you're feeling that day, then adapts from there: side-lying positioning, full cushioned support, and pressure tuned to your stage of pregnancy. No driving across town. No waiting room. Just real relief, followed by your own couch.

Side-lying positioning, designed for pregnancy

You won't be asked to lie face-down or flat on your back. Prenatal sessions use side-lying positioning — the setup most widely used for massage during pregnancy — with pillows and bolsters supporting your belly, hips, knees, and neck. You stay comfortably draped throughout, and positions are adjusted whenever you need to shift. If something doesn't feel right, it changes. That's the whole approach.

Care through every trimester

Whether you're in your first trimester or counting down the final weeks, sessions are adapted to where you are. Early pregnancy often calls for lighter, relaxation-focused work; later trimesters tend to shift toward the low back, hips, and legs as your body carries more in front. Because Jean Pierre works with the same clients visit after visit, he can track how your body is changing and adjust each session accordingly.

One important note: prenatal massage is wellness care, not medical care. Before booking — especially if your pregnancy is considered high-risk — check with your OB or midwife and follow their guidance. Jean Pierre is happy to work within any recommendations your provider gives.

Relief where pregnancy asks the most

Every session is shaped by a quick assessment, but prenatal sessions most often focus on three things:

Low-back and hip ache

As posture shifts and ligaments loosen, the low back and hips work overtime. Focused, appropriate-pressure work in these areas is the heart of most prenatal sessions.

Swelling in the legs and feet

Light, rhythmic strokes — the same gentle approach used in lymphatic drainage — help reduce the swelling that builds in the legs, ankles, and feet.

Better rest

An hour of quiet, supported relaxation — without going anywhere before or after — can be what makes the difference between another restless night and actually sleeping.

The best part: you don't go anywhere

Ask anyone in their third trimester how they feel about driving across Austin, finding parking, and climbing on and off a table in an unfamiliar room. In-home prenatal massage removes all of it. Jean Pierre arrives at your door with the table, fresh linens, and every cushion and bolster needed for side-lying support. You answer the door, settle in, and when the session ends, you're already home — free to rest, nap, or put your feet up. That alone can be worth the booking.

Unlike on-demand massage apps, you're not getting a rotating cast of strangers or surprise platform fees. You get the same licensed therapist every visit, at a straightforward price, with a direct line to the person actually doing the work.

Frequently asked questions

When during pregnancy can I book a prenatal massage?

Sessions are available at all stages of pregnancy, with positioning and pressure adapted to each trimester. That said, every pregnancy is different — please check with your OB or midwife before booking, especially if your pregnancy is considered high-risk, and share any guidance they give so the session can follow it.

Will I have to lie on my stomach or flat on my back?

No. Prenatal sessions use side-lying positioning with a full set of pillows and bolsters supporting your belly, hips, knees, and neck. You'll be comfortably draped the entire time, and the setup is adjusted whenever you want to change position.

What do I need to have ready at home?

Just enough floor space for a massage table — roughly the footprint of a yoga mat with walking room around it. Jean Pierre brings the table, fresh linens, bolsters, and everything else. Wear whatever is comfortable; you undress only to your comfort level.

Do you offer massage after the baby arrives?

Yes. Sessions after delivery can focus on rest and recovery, and lymphatic drainage — light, rhythmic strokes that help reduce swelling — is also available and well suited to post-surgery recovery. If you've had a C-section or other procedure, follow your surgeon's guidance on timing before booking.
